Abstract
This brief examines how wartime displacement in Lebanon has intersected with security discourse, pre-existing sectarian divisions, and discriminatory practices during the March 2026 escalation of Israeli airstrikes. It traces how perceptions of safety shifted from geographic areas to displaced populations themselves, shaping municipal responses, housing access, profiling, and exclusion. At the same time, the brief documents acts of solidarity and collective care, highlighting how discrimination and support have coexisted across communities.
