On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, the Asfari Institute and the Mexican Embassy in Lebanon hosted a networking event titled “Highlighting Feminist Foreign Policies,” aimed at exploring and advancing feminist foreign policies. The evening began with welcome remarks from José-Ignacio Madrazo, Ambassador of Mexico to Lebanon, followed by a discussion on developing a Global South approach to feminist foreign policies by Lina Abou-Habib, Director of the Asfari Institute. The event continued with a networking dinner and presentations from ambassadors Ann Dismorr of Sweden and Carlos Morán of Chile on their countries’ feminist foreign policy experiences. The impact of these policies on feminist organizations was explored by Paola Salwan Daher and Gielan Elmessiri, with an open mic session and final remarks by Lina Abou-Habib concluding the evening.
