National mechanisms for women have passed through a long history since the 1995 Beijing platform for action for Equality, Development, and Peace. However, recently, the Amman principles, a set of 9 fundamental principles came to advance the work of national mechanisms for gender equality and woman empowerment. This initiative done by Solidarity is Global Institute – Jordan (SIGI) in collaboration with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung’s Political Feminism Programme in the MENA region plans to ensure optimal gender equality advocacy within challenging contexts. In light of the above, this webinar plans to discuss and further develop the Amman principles, help raise awareness of their importance, and advocate for their adoption.
