Abstract
This report summarizes the findings of the research project on the “Reform and Development of the Arab Regional Order,” led by an advisory committee dedicated to enhancing the League of Arab States (LAS) in response to evolving regional and global challenges. The project, conducted over 22 months, involved comprehensive reviews, stakeholder consultations, and panel discussions in partnership with the Centre for Arab Unity Studies and the Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship at AUB. The report is divided into four chapters. The first examines the LAS’s successes and challenges, while the second explores the impact of regional and global transformations on the Arab world. The third chapter proposes reforms to revitalize the LAS and strengthen Arab cooperation, and the fourth presents possible future scenarios for the LAS, including its continuation as a symbol of Arab unity. The study highlights the urgent need for strategic reform within the LAS to address contemporary challenges and foster a more integrated and effective Arab regional order.
