High-Level Advocacy Event on the Participation of Women in Upcoming Municipal Elections in Lebanon
On April 19, 2023, the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, alongside the Asfari Institute, held a High-Level Advocacy Event in Lebanon to promote women’s participation in municipal elections. The event, involving ambassadors, UN agencies, and CSOs, addressed challenges and recommendations for women candidates.

Abstract In preparation for the May 2023 municipal elections, there is significant interest in advocating for gender quotas to enhance political representation in Lebanon.
