Project Description
This research project aims to analyze social protection in the MENA region from a gendered lens. It will focus on how political-economic structures impact marginalized groups, including women, LGBTQ+ communities, refugees, migrant workers, and persons with disabilities. Research will be conducted in six countries—Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Tunisia, and Jordan—each offering distinct socio-political contexts. By using a feminist intersectional approach, the project aims to address knowledge gaps and develop insights into the role of civil society in advancing gender-responsive social protection reforms. The findings will be shared through expert discussions, public lectures, and social dialogues, with the goal of advocating for more inclusive social policies across the MENA region.
