The Asfari Institute is committed to promoting citizenship and good governance through various projects and initiatives. These include examining the impacts of the crises on state-society relations, integrating social justice into reform plans, and enhancing citizenship education. The Institute also focuses on analyzing social protection from a gender perspective to advocate for more inclusive policies across the MENA region. These initiatives aim to provide valuable insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making and foster positive change in governance and civic engagement.

The Good Governance &
Citizenship Observatory
Established in 2023 at the American University of Beirut,
GGCO is a regional initiative that explores and disseminates
knowledge on citizenship and its intersection with governance,
migration, and constitutions, fostering active and responsible
citizenship for a more inclusive society.
