On July 4, 2025, the Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship at the American University of Beirut hosted a dissemination event on “SRHR Policy Gaps and Priorities in the MENA Region.” The event focused on three critical and under-addressed issues in regional policy frameworks: menopause, abortion, and conflict-related sexual violence. It brought together researchers, advocates, and practitioners to present rights-based policy briefs, highlight the structural barriers affecting access to care and protection, and call for urgent legal and institutional reforms. The event aimed to shift the narrative from service delivery gaps to systemic rights violations and to promote collective strategies for accountability and gender justice across the region.
