Abstract
This policy brief consolidates findings and recommendations from a regional multidisciplinary roundtable discussion addressing menopause as a critical but overlooked issue in public health and workplace policy. The discussion was held on February 27, 2025, organized by the Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship at the American University of Beirut and the Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) Program at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. The event convened 17 healthcare professionals, policymakers, and activists from the MENA region to discuss the systemic neglect of menopause in health and employment systems and to chart a path forward. The objective is to inform and guide governments, health systems, and employers in adopting evidence-based approaches that support women through the menopausal transition.
