Abstract
In preparation for the May 2023 municipal elections, there is significant interest in advocating for gender quotas to enhance political representation in Lebanon. On February 27, 2023, the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden in Lebanon, along with the Asfari Institute, held a workshop at AUB to discuss women’s participation in these elections. The event, supported by the Nordic Council for Ministers, featured a panel of female municipal politicians, aspiring candidates, and experts. This document presents actionable recommendations to increase women’s presence and support prospective candidates.
